Kenya: Free Seeds for Makueni

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has launched a programme to give free seeds to farmers. More than 12,897 farmers in different wards have benefitted from the Sh10,342,810 seeds.

Speaking during a tour of the county yesterday, Kibwana said the progremmae is in line with their vision to end food insecurity. "We want to fight hunger in Makueni," he said. "This is the last time the county is giving out free seeds." He said they will set up cereal stores for farmers to sell their crops at good rates.
