Nigeria Wins Fifa U-17 World Cup

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets has won the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arable Emirate.

The team defeated Mexico 3-0 in an energy snapping final to lift the cup for the fourth time having achieved the feat in 1985, 1993 and 2007.

The final was a rematch of the 6-1 win Nigeria inflicted on their Mexican counterparts earlier in the group stage. With their victory in yesterday final, Nigeria became the most successful team in FIFA U-17 World Cup history, one better than South American giants Brazil.

When the final whistle went in the UAE capital, Nigerian players and fans alike both those in the stadium and the ones watching game back home rejoiced, fingers pointed to the sky, with what has become the traditional Nigerian celebration of: "yes, yes yes!"
