Kenya: Six Estates' Machine Use Riles Ward Representative

A ward representative has raised concern over increase duse of tea picking machines in Bomet county. Christopher Ng'eno, the Chepchabas representative, said many tea pickers have lost their jobs.

Ngeno said tea picking is the main sourse of employment in the ward. "The tea estates want increased productivity but they should also be sensitive to the plight of the locals," said Ng'eno.
