Kenya: Media Bill Will Be Amended

Deputy President William Ruto told a media forum in Ethiopia yesterday that the Kenya Information and Communication (Amendment) Bill has some inconsistencies which need to be resolved before it is signed into law.

The media has been complaining that the bill, passed by Parliament on October 31 is draconian and contains punitive penalties of up to Sh20 million, which can me imposed on a media house that breaks the code of conduct.
