Kenya: State in Deal to Return Somalia Refugees Home

KENYA, Somalia and the UNHCR have signed an agreement that will see Somalia refugees in the country return to their country. Speaking during the signing of the agreement in Nairobi yesterday, Deputy President William Ruto said refugees have been a "huge burden and a security threat" to the country and time has come for them to return home since they have a government in place.

The agreement signed by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, her Somalia counterpart, Fouzia Adam, and the UNHCR Kenya representative Raouf Mazou, will be carried out in phases and is expected to take three years.It is however not clear when it will start to be implemented
