Kenya: Embu East Widow Left Homeless

A 67-year-old widow in Embu was on Saturday displaced after a son of the vendor who sold the land to her husband destroyed all her property. Ann Njoki's semi permanent houses were demolished and crops in the farm felled with pangas by hired goons under Steve Mugendi's instructions.

The property was worth thousands of shillings. Njoki told the press Mugendi, a trader in Embu town, descended on the land at Kigumo village in Embu East District on Saturday after he arrived accompanied by the goons.
