Nigerian Firm Wins Right for Commonwealth Handball Club Championship

The Commonwealth Handball Association has awarded the Consultancy Right for Organizing 2014 Commonwealth Handball Club Championship in Abuja, Nigeria to a Nigeria firm, Centre for Children and Youth Excellence in Sports.

The championship is to serve as part of the events to commemorate the centenary celebration of Nigeria scheduled to take place early next year.

Speaking at the event, the new Executive Director of Commonwealth Handball Association, Nigeria's Mark Jacob urged the firm to strive hard to maintain the standard built over the years by the association by ensuring Nigeria the best championship.

"I want to assure you that we in the Commonwealth Handball Association will give you all the necessary support for you to succeed"

"Let me also remind you that we are known for keeping good standard and we won't expect anything less from you," he said.

Part of the conditions for organizing the championship is to raise fund for the championship and spearhead the marketing drive.

In his reaction, the President of Centre for Children and Youth Excellence in Sports, Mohammed Bala Khalid thanked the association for the confidence reposed in his organization saying that he has finalized plans with major sponsors of the championship on their various contribution and designations in the project.
