Kenya: Msambweni Girl Barred From Exam

A class eight candidate has threatened to take her life after she was allegedly barred by the headteacher from sitting exams which started today. Dorcas Nduku from Ngathini Primary School in Lunga Lunga, Msambweni district is said to have told her parents that she has no future if she will not sit the KCPE exams.

Her mother, Lisa Daniel, said the headteacher Saidi Juma Dari told her last Thursday that her daughter will not be among 26 candidates sitting exams because she has not been performing well. "We paid for her KCPE exams on February. The reason is not sufficient," she told the Star on the phone on Sunday.
