Kenya: Make Girl Education a Priority, Urges Ida
By Maurice Alal
FORMER Prime Minister Raila Od- inga's wife Ida has asked education stakeholders in Kisumu county to give priority to girlchild education. She said the rate at which girls are dropping out of school is worrying and called for quick intervention.
"Education stakeholders must work together to address the school dropout among girls," Ida said. Speaking during Miss Tourism Kisumu pageant on Saturday night, Ida urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to allocate more funds to run the sanitary towels programmes for schoolgirls.
