Kenya: Mutua Says Muthama Wanted Him to Beg for His Support

13 November 2013

Machakos governor Alfred Mutua says the rivalry between him and senator Johnstone Muthama began when he refused to kneel before him to seek permission to contest for the Gubernatorial seat.

In an Affidavit filed in court, Mutua says Muthama made the demand during a meeting in a hotel, where Muthama allegedly told him that he is the Ukambani Kingmaker and he will therefore not support him unless he kneels before him. For details on this story, get a copy of the star newspaper.
