Kenya: Girl Dumps Newborn in Latrine

A 16-year-old form three school girl was yesterday morning arrested after she gave birth and threw the baby-girl into a pit latrine. The form three student at Ithiani secondary school was held at the Itoleka police station and the baby was retrieved by members of the public led by the Changwithya west chief John Wambua.

The baby who was lack to be recovered alive in the pit latrines at Ngondini village Utooni sub-location was taken to the Kitui County Hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
