South Africa: SADTU Says No to Violence Against Women and Children

The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) joins millions of South Africans in observing the 16-Days of No Violence Against Women and Children which begins from 25 November until 10 December under the theme: 'Vikela Mzansi Kwanele. Communities United in Preventing Violence against Women and Children'. We believe its objectives should be sustained right through the year.

SADTU notes with sadness the campaign for no-violence against women and children is observed every year and the country boast of a constitution and legislation that safeguards women and children's rights. However, violence against them continues to escalate.
