Libya/Zimbabwe: Warriors Confirm Libya Date

Zimbabwe and Libya have confirmed an international friendly match for their respective senior national football teams on December 13, ahead of the African Nations Championships (Chan) finals in January.

The Warriors have a date with Mozambique on December 8 at Barbourfields stadium before the Libya match which has been set for Morocco

The two matches will be used by coach Ian Gorowa (pictured) to asses players he has previously not given opportunities while he continues to experiment with some positions.

Gorowa is mainly looking for a holding midfielder to replace the suspended Devon Chafa, hinting that he could slot in Dynamos defender Patson Jaure to fill the void.

Zifa CEO Jonathan Mashingaidze confirmed the Libya friendly adding that the match would help coaches fine-tune for the Chan finals in South Africa. The association is making travel arrangements after Libya confirmed the fixture on Wednesday this week. After the Libya match, the Warriors are likely to proceed to South Africa for a month's training camp organised by Gorowa.

Another warm up match has also been organised against Gabon in South Africa, ahead of the tournament.

The Warriors are expected to go into camp after the Mbada Diamonds Cup final between Highlanders and How Mine. -- Staff Writer.
