Kenya: Governors to Know Fate of County Roles

Governors will this morning know the fate of their appeals to the Senate on transfer of functions as senators are set to hold a special Kamukunji to review the appeals. The meeting has been convened following the conclusion of the countrywide public hearing on the county appeals.

The hearings were spearheaded by the Committee on Devolved Government after governors contested devolved functions by the Transition Authority. The governors had faulted the audit work carried out by TA to establish their capacity to handled transferred function by the National Government.
