Kenya: MP Calls for Syllabus Review

3 December 2013

MVITA MP Abdulswamad Sharriff Nassir has called for amendments in the Education Act. Speaking in Mbaraki sports ground during the World Aids Day on Sunday, Abdulswamad said the Act should compel the Ministry of Education to incorporate sexual health education in the syllabus.

Nassir said young children have been engaging in sex without knowing the consequences."Children need to be taught about abstinence as the only way to curb the ever growing number of young people engaging in sex every year," he said.
