Gambia: In Drug Peddlers' Case, Magistrate Overrules No-Case-to-Answer Submission of Second Accused

Magistrate Dayoh MS Dago of the Banjul Magistrates' Court has recently turned down the oral no-case-to-answer submission made by Lawyer Uzoma, the defence counsel for Obiora John Now Dudo, the second accused person in the criminal trial involving him and Tembisa Chichi Soares against the state.

The defence counsel, A Uzoma, had earlier made an oral submission of no-case-to-answer before the said court on behalf of his client, Obiora John Nwobudo (second accused). Obiora Nwobudo with his co-accused have been charged with conspiracy to commit an offence, in respect to Section 53 (1) (a) of the Drug Control Act of 2003 as amended, and dealing in prohibited drugs, in respect to Section 33 (1) of the Drug Control Act 2003 as amended.
