Angola: Eight People Killed in Fire

Moxico — Eight members of a same family (a woman, six children and a young girl) were killed Tuesday in a fire that gutted a house in Luena's 4 de Fevereiro ward, in eastern Moxico province, Angop learned Wednesday from a hospital source.

Speaking to Angop, the head of the hospital's first aid unit , Júlio Pedro Mendes, said that the fire started around 10 pm , when a flame from a candle hit a petrol container that was at home aimed for commercial purposes. The dead are the mother, six children and a sister of hers.
