Nelson Mandela, the revered icon of the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa and one of the towering political figures of the 20th century, has died aged 95, the Agence France Presse ,AFP, reports.
LEADERSHIP is the first medium in the world to announce Mandela's death. It first hinted at Madiba's death on its breaking news bar around 5pm yesterday, nearly six hours before South African President Jacob Zuma confirmed and before other news sites picked it up.
