Kenya: Boda Boda Theft Suspect Killed in Malindi

A suspect said to be a boda boda thief was yesterday killed by a mob at Shella in Malindi. Area assistant chief Nicodemus Mwayele said the man was killed by the members of the public for allegedly being involved in a series of boda bodas theft cases. "Mijomboni residents said he is a serial thief," he said.

Mwayele said the man is believed to have moved from Mombasa recently after sensing his life was in danger. "He is suspected to be using young men to carry out the the theft in Malindi. He is colluding with people who sell stolen motorcycles," he said. Boda boda transport is famous in Malindi. Cases of killing suspected boda boda thieves are many.
