South Africa: Madiba to Be Laid to Rest On 15 December

Late former President Nelson Mandela will be laid to rest during a State Funeral on 15 December in Qunu, in the Eastern Cape.

President Jacob Zuma made the announcement this afternoon.

Madiba passed on in his family home in Houghton last night.

President Zuma said as part of the national week of mourning for Madiba, Sunday, 8 December, has been declared a Day of Prayer and Reflection.

On this day, the nation has been called upon to gather at all places of worship to pray and hold services and reflect on Madiba's life. - SAnews.gov.za
