Kenya: Workers Lose Construction Jobs in Voi

MORE than 300 workers at Kundan Singh company have been left jobless in the last three months following the stalled construction of the Voi-Mwatate-Wundanyi road.

The government awarded the company a Sh2.3 billion tender to construct the road. The delay has been caused by the government's failure to pay a Sh800 million debt to the firm. Following the financial crisis, the company has been borrowing money from banks in order to complete the work.
