The Sudanese capital Khartoum will host the first meetings of the second Egyptian-Ethiopian-Sudanese talks to complete the previous consultations aimed at making a breakthrough of the crisis of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam construction.

Technical experts of the eastern River Nile countries will start today preparations for meetings of the Egyptian, Sudanese and Ethiopian water resources ministers, that is scheduled to be held tomorrow.

An informed Sudanese source said that the three countries have been almost on the brink of approving a joint technical committee to carry out the recommendations of the international expert panel entrusted with assessing the Renaissance Dam, but the meeting was halted due to Egyptian delegation's insistence that Ethiopia should delay the dam construction for six months pending carrying out the required studies.

The Egyptian panel of experts has already arrived on Saturday in Khartoum to take part in the meetings to discuss the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdul-Moteleb scheduled to arrive in Khartoum on Sunday evening to take part in the ministerial meetings.
