Gambia: Colley Says APRC Will Replicate Kiang West Success in Foni Jarrol

Following the successful conduction of the Kiang West National Assembly by-election in which the APRC won a landslide victory by polling a staggering 3, 703 votes, it appears the ruling party is going all out to reclaim the last vacant seat in Foni Jarrol, which triggered the election after the expulsion of Hon. Borry Kolley.

But as the race to the January 9th election gathers pace, the mayor of the Kanifing Municipality, Yankuba Colley, who doubles as the APRC national mobiliser, has been speaking of their "eminence" in the upcoming polls. He told the Daily Observer Monday in an interview that the ruling party will spare no efforts to reclaim the seat, thus urging the opposition to roll their sleeves well should they contest the polls. Colley, an APRC political strategist, said they are determined to replicate the success registered in Kiang West where Menata Njai defeated Pa Bajinka Touray of the opposition National Reconciliation Party (NRP).
