Somalia: President Hassan Cancels Trip to Kenya

Somali President Hassan Shekh Mohamud has canceled a trip to Kenya today as the President's office is expected to nominate the country's new prime minister. According to Villa Somalia sources, President Mohamud was scheduled to depart to Kenya today to attend the Kenya's Independence Day celebrations in Nairobi, but President Mohamud has canceled his departure to Kenya to conclude the ongoing consultations to select the new Premier following the parliament's vote out against former Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon two weeks ago.

President Mohamud has dispatched a high ranking delegation spearheaded by the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Osman Jawari to attend the Kenyan National Independence Day on behalf of him.
