Liberia: Citizens' Group Response U.S.-Lib Group

The Citizens United to Promote Peace and Democracy in Liberia or CUPPADL has differed with a proposal from a group of Diaspora Liberians, under the banner of the Liberia Institute of Public Integrity, or LIPI, calling for the appointment of three independent special prosecutors "to handle all reports of Presidential Commissions and Special Investigations carried out by the Executive Branch."

Citing numerous cases where special commissions were established and their findings published, but with no actions, the group called on the Legislature to lead this effort and appoint three "Independent Special Prosecutors" to try three sets of Presidential inquiries.
