Namibia: Windhoek Memorial Service for Madiba

Windhoek/Pretoria — Namibia will host a memorial service in honour of South African global icon Nelson Mandela at Parliament Gardens in Windhoek today. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT), Mbeuta Ua-Ndjarakana yesterday told New Era the memorial service, which is by instruction of President Hifikepunye Pohamba, will commence at 15h00.

"The public is invited to attend," he said. Flags in Namibia would from yesterday be flown at half-mast until Sunday, December 15, Ua-Ndjarakana added.
