Kenya: Baringo Targets Tourism Revenue

BARINGO county plans to position itself as a top tourism and mining destination in the country, Governor Benjamin Cheboi has said.

He said the county is poised to take off as a major mining zone due to prospects of oil exploration by British company, Tullow Oil in the Kerio Valley. "The county also has large deposits of minerals and geothermal energy potential," Cheboi said. He was speaking during Jamhuri day celebrations held in Kabarnet town on Thursday.
