Central African Republic: Food Distributed to Families Displaced By Fighting in Bangui

WFP on Friday continued to distribute food to 40,000 people camped out at the airport in Bangui, the Central African Republic's capital, after being forced to flee their homes by the recent outbreak of fighting in the country.

Despite the insecurity, WFP has distributed food to over 68,000 people in Bangui since the outbreak of violence in the capital last week. Across the country, fighting has displaced hundreds of thousands of people and created a humanitarian crisis in which food is a top priority.
