Eritrea: Nueys Express Readiness to Reinforce Participation in National Development Endeavors

Asmara — At a seminar he conducted to cadres and youth representatives in Asmara on 14 December, Mr. Saleh Ahmedin, Chairperson of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS), expressed that the Union is striving to reinforce participation in the national development endeavors.

He further explained that the NUEYS is conducting streamlining and re-organization in order to strengthen participation in raising awareness, organization and arming of the youth.

Mr. Saleh who said that the NUEYS is the continuation of the National Political Association established in 1978 in Keren under the umbrella of the EPLF, indicated that it has been the foundation of the strong youth and students organizations, and that after independence it has been contributing its level capacity in the national development programs.

He also stated that the Union would reinforce activities in 2014 with regards preserving and strengthening national values, developing awareness of the youth as well as nurturing nationalism and ensuring the rights of the youth.

The participants on their part expressed appreciation for the briefings they received, and that they would work for the success of the charted out development programs.
