Eritrea: Activities Underway to Ensure Water Supply of Elaberet Agro-Industry

Keren — Mr. Gergis Girmai, Administrator of Anseba region, indicated that activities have been undergoing to ensure water supply of Elaberet Agro-Industry.

He further explained that in order to alleviate the existing water shortage two dams have been constructed at Balewa River, and that they would contribute to the development of under ground water in the area.

He also said that ensuring animal feed is part of the efforts to ensure food security, and that efforts are being exerted to that end.

Mr. Gergis further indicated that there is future plan to build a dam at Jewjew that would contribute for the long lasting solution of water shortage of the Agro-Industry.
