Government is mooting a new law to regulate a relationship - between landlords and tenants - that has often been based on the principle of might being right. The law will not go as far as interfering in what is purely a private affair; but it will go some distance in clipping some powers that landlords have enjoyed over their tenants.
During a recent consultative meeting by the ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development on the draft Landlord and Tenant Act, traders and tenants agreed to streamline the relationship between the two parties.
