Gambia: State Lawyer Cross-Examines Alhagie Jobe

State counsel A.M Yusuf, Thursday started the cross-examination of Alhagie Jobe, the deputy editor-in-chief of the Daily Observer newspaper, after he gave his defence testimony in the trial against him and Mbye Bittaye, before the Special Criminal Court, presided over by Justice Emmanuel Nkea.

During the cross-examination, Jobe told the SCC that he joined the Observer Company in 2001 as a freelance reporter and rose through the ranks as a reporter to a senior staff reporter attached to the State House, until his promotion as a news editor and then deputy editor-in-chief.
