Kenya: Six Patients Die At Coast Hospital As Strike Continues

ATLEAST six patients have died at coast general hospital as result of the ongoing countrywide health workers strike.

Coast Regional Director of Medical Services Khadija Shikely confirmed that among those who died are critically ill patients requiring specialized treatment from doctors and nurses .

Shikely announced the shutdown of maternity and the theatre wings after strike paralyzed crucial services. Shikely disclosed that only the emergency sections of the Hospital were open but only attends few cases.
