A trainee mechanic at CMED (Pvt) Ltd reportedly lied to a Harare man that the company was having a second-hand vehicle auction and he could purchase a car for him there - and then swindled him of US$10 960. Tapiwa Chipfuyamiti (35) of number 1801 Kambuzuma Section 5 in Harare yesterday appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei facing fraud charges and was remanded to January 9 next year on US$100 bail. Prosecutor Ms Sharon Mashavira told the court that Chipfuyamiti approached Franscis Motsi and told him that there was going to be a second-hand vehicle auction sale at CMED.
He allegedly advised him that the auction was for CMED employees and that he was able to purchase a vehicle on his behalf.
