Kenya: Kabando Calls for an End to Road Accidents
By Wambugu Kanyi, 17 December 2013
MUKURWE-INI MP Kabando wa Kabando has called on the traffic police to end "impunity" on the roads. Kabando said this will bring an end to road carnage especially during the festive season.
Kabando asked Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to lead his officers in ensuring traffic rules are followed to the letter. "It is shocking that the number of road accidents continues to increase day by day. There is disobedience and impunity on our roads. The matatu madness continues unabated," he said.
The MP therefore said there is need to have traffic officers from the ward level to the county to ensure Michuki rules are followed. Kabando was speaking to journalists in Mukurweini on Saturday.
