Nigeria: FG to Set Up Special Squad to Combat Oil Theft

To put more bite to its fight against militancy, vandalism and oil theft in the Niger-Delta region of the country, the Federal Government has said it would create a special squad within the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) to be saddled with the responsibility.

Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro disclosed this Tuesday at the commissioning of the administrative building of NSCDC College Headquarters in Abuja.

According to Moro, the mandate given to NSCDC virtually covers all sphere of the country, including the protection of government facilities.
