NOTHING excited me, in the realm of sports, this week more than the hosting of the just ended Judo National Championship in Zanzibar during which 90 judokas from both parts of the United Republic of Tanzania took part.
It excited me because at last we seem to be getting somewhere, as far as the organization of variety of sports in this country is concerned. At last, we appear to be slowly, but surely getting away from the mould of one track-mindedness, we had for so long cast ourselves into, here I have in mind our fixation on one and only one sport, football!
