Zimbabwe: Man Loses U.S.$47 000 to Robbers

A Harare man lost US$47 000 cash to four armed robbers who raided his Mabelreign house last Friday afternoon.

The robbers arrived in a silver Toyota Spacio and told Elijah Mabamba that they wanted to buy five pockets of potatoes. Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tadius Chibanda said the robbers were allowed to enter into the yard. "They produced US$100 and they loaded the potatoes into their vehicle. The man then decided to look for change inside the house," he said.
