Kenya: Malindi Dawn Fire Guts Sh850 Million Hotel

A property worth nearly Sh1 billion was yesterday reduced to ashes after fire broke out at Sai Eden Roc Hotel in Malindi. The fire reportedly began at the resort's restaurant in the 4.30am incident.

Two tourists sustained serious injuries after they allegedly jumped out of their hotel rooms and were rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Guests at the resort had a hard time trying to run for safety and saving their belongings. It took more than three hours for the fire to be put out.
