Fractional ownership of property is whereby a group of like-minded investors pool resources to own a piece of real estate together and agree on how to share the property.

Sharing such property is usually on the basis of the time of occupancy and rental income generated when the owners are not using the houses. Most fractional ownerships worldwide share the time spent on the property on a pre-agreed contract whereby one can opt to collect rent in lieu of the time they would have spent on the property.
