Nigeria: APC Needs Seven More Defectors to Form Majority

The matrix of political calculations of the members of the House of Representatives expected to cross over to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) changed Wednesday as legislators from Bauchi and Katsina joined their colleagues to reduce the strength of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the lower chamber.

Other states whose members officially declared their decision to decamp include Kano, Sokoto, Kwara, Rivers and Adamawa. In all 37 members of the PDP swelled the ranks of the APC.
