The case file of the criminal trial involving Hajie Hulay Camara, the former Chief of Jimara District in the Upper River Region, and two others namely; Saja Manneh and Joseph Gomez, a security officer, has been sent to the Attorney General Chambers for further directives. Police Prosecutor Sarja Sanyang yesterday, 17 December, told the Banjul Magistrates' court presided over by Principal Magistrate Hillary Abeke that the said file is with the Attorney General's Chambers and urged the court to grant the application for an adjournment. Sheriff Tambedou, counsel for the accused persons, did not oppose the application for an adjournment and the matter was subsequently adjourned till 30th December, 2013 for hearing.
Readers could recall that the accused persons are charged with two counts namely conspiracy to commit a felony and obtaining credit by false pretense, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.
