Egypt: Ahmed Shafiq, Ten Others Acquitted in Land Corruption Case

The Cairo Criminal Court decided on Thursday 19/12/2013 to acquit former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq along with ten other defendants, who are members of the board of the Cooperative Housing Association for Military Pilots (CHAMP), along with their relatives, of charges embezzling public money.

The criminal court also acquitted former Air Force Generals Mohamed Reda, Mahmoud Gamal el-Din and Tarek Mahmoud, who faced charges in the same case.
