Somalia: Fatumo and Two the Journalists Sentenced Last Week

A few days ago, we celebrated the freedom granted to two Shabelle Journalists, Mohamed Bashir hashi , the reporter who interviewed Fatumo, AbdiMalik who is the owner of Radio Shabelle and the rape victim Fatumo who works for Kasmo radio (Voice of women).

The two Shabelle journalists were sentenced to six months and one year respectively or pay an equivalent amount of money to the jail term period while Fatumo was denied to take the floor when the judge kicked her defense lawyers.

Abdimalik was accused of attacking the nation "attempting a coup d'état" .Mohamed basher was accused of defaming the Government by spreading the news about a rape victim who was in dire need while Fatumo was denied the freedom of speech which is one of the principles of democracy and transparency and was ordered not leave her residential area by the court.

On the other hand, the accused government officials who work as double shifts (Working for state owned radio station and undercover government police) who allegedly raped the 19 year old female journalist were never questioned and enjoyed their freedom while the three journalists were entrenched in a poorly maintained government prisons. These are the injustices committed against the voiceless civilians by corrupt government officials.

In the Somali demonology there are various categories of evil spirits (Devils).there is Minghis meaning supreme evil, there is also another demon known as Borane (from badness memories) . There is also Rohan who, like Lucifer of the Christian tradition,( forcing the possessed to speak unintelligibly in the grip of strong shaking). in Mogadishu, the later devils (Rohan) are the tangible demons.

First and foremost, they (Rohan) are the elite guards of that Damul Jadid, they are invulnerable to any penalty, they have the right to participate in any dirty politics, economics and social matters knowing that they posses extra powers. The people know them well and fears them because they come largely from the ranks dell'Amniyad ( security services ) Al Shabab (reverts) .in the streets of Mogadishu, the main topics discussed include the strange story of Fatumo's case which went unpunished because the accused (rapists) belonged to the Rohan spirits.

The Rohan devils are attributed and remembered for the dramatic incident which claimed the death of Honorable Mohamed Warsame who died in a car explosion implanted in his car during a visit to Villa Somalia.

Mohamed Warsame Feisal (the late M.p) who was the head of the Parliamentary Committee for Social Affairs who was interviewed a few days ago on the maneuvers to distrust the former Prime Minister Shirdon , had responded "My name is among those that were listed as signatories to the motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister motion, but against my consent."

During that day, the Honarable Warsame, an opponent of the regime of "Damul Jadid" who are trying to take the absolute power of Somalia, was called by the President and his adviser's for a meeting in Villa Somalia (State house). To enter the structure with his car he passed through three checkpoints which are conducted AMISOM troops who guard the palace. He left his car in the parking lot in front of the Office of the President, but when the meeting with the president ended Mr Warsame's vehicle exploded few meters away from villa Somalia causing his death.

No one has condemned the attack to al- Shabab because if a terrorist had managed to penetrate inside Villa Somalia, would have blown the palace and certainly not the vehicle of Warsame.

Neither the President nor the speaker of the federal parliament attended the funeral simply sending a telegram of condolences to the relatives.

To overcome these Rohan , the Somali tradition says that you must sprinkle with strong perfumes or hit the body of the possessed with sturdy sticks.

In recent days Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed was appointed Prime Minister by President Mohamud .will Abdiwali do the exorcism in Mogadishu and eventually possessed too?
