Five more suspects associated with the failed suicide bomb attack attempt back in October during a football match between the Ethiopian and the Nigerian national teams have been detained.
The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) and the Federal Police announced Thursday (December 20) that all plotters belong to the terrorist group al-Shabaab.
October's failed attempt was but only a single instance of the many terrorist attack plots thwarted by coordinated efforts of the people and government of Ethiopia, NISS said.
The recent attempt, which came immediately after al-Shabaab's attack in Nairobi, was a desperate attempt by the weakened terrorist group which is facing multiple defeats in Somalia. Three suspects were arrested on the day the attempt failed in October.
