Kenya: Kwale Youth Groups Get Sh450,000

NINE youth groups in Kwale county have benefited from the Youth Enterprise Development Fund. The Kwale, Ziwani, Tusake, Hizbolla, Mitsengo, Barani, Kigato, Joy and Rafiki youth groups were each issued with Sh50,000 cheques from the kitty in Matuga constituency.

Speaking during issuance of the cheques the national Youth Enterprise Development Fund chairman Gor Semelang'o said the government will reduce the time taken before the cheques are released to applicants by two weeks.

The youth groups had complained the funds take too long to reach them, thus preventing them from meeting their targets. The youth groups led by Kigato Youth Group chairman Musa Ndaro called on the government to come up with a capacity building programme that will enhance their knowledge on the projects they do.
