Nigeria: Govt to Spend Billions On Weapons

The Federal Government has allocated billions of naira in the 2014 budget for the procurement of weapons and security-related equipment for the various security agencies, an analysis of the budget has shown.

Details of the 2014 appropriation bill obtained by Daily Trust indicate that the government intends to purchase different calibre of arms, ammunition, GSM tracking devices, anti-bomb equipment, armoured personnel carriers, anti-riot equipment, bullet proof vests, ballistic helmets and other related gadgets for security agencies next year.
