Washington, DC — Enough Project Co-Founder, John Prendergast said:

"To avoid massacres in extremely vulnerable areas, UN forces in South Sudan should create safe havens to protect civilians. International mediation should commence as soon as possible, led by East African neighboring states and supported by the Obama administration. U.S. Special Envoy Donald Booth should be deployed immediately to Juba to deliver strong messages and support any mediation efforts."
