Nigeria: Turmoil in Otukpo As Goat Sellers, LG Officials Clash

Makurdi — Police yesterday said one person was killed in Otukpo, Benue State late Sunday following a disagreement between goat sellers and local council officials around the town Mosque when the goat sellers ignored the council's repeated advice to relocate from the expressway.

Though our correspondent learnt that two persons died in the fracas, police spokesman Daniel Ezeala confirmed only one death in the incident which also resulted in the burning of six houses and destruction of property. It spilled over to early Monday but police said it had been contained.
