Egypt: SIS Starts a Pilot Launching of Its Facebook

In the light of the mission of the State Information Service (SIS) to convey facts about Egypt to the world, out of its belief in the importance of social media networks and the pivotal role they played in the January 25th and June 30th revolutions, and within the framework of its ambitious development plan to employ all available technological mediums, which targets the widest range of the Egyptian people; both, home and abroad, as well as, targeting the world at large, S.I.S. launched an Arabic-English preliminary official Facebook page.

The launch was announced today; Tuesday, December 24th, by S.I.S. Chairman Amb. Amgad Abd Al-Ghaffar where he noted that the official Facebook page is characterized by its comprehensiveness as well as containing a number of press releases, news reports, photos, and videos that express S.I.S. activities and the information it puts forth about the internal Egyptian scene in all its aspects; political, economic, social, etc.
